# Can I access windows shared drives remotely while NordLayer is set up?

If this is something you must have, we suggest setting up a [Site-to-Site connection](/docs/site-to-site) between our server with a dedicated IP address and your router/firewall device in the office/site.

Alternatively, [Cloud LAN feature](/docs/how-to-set-up-smart-remote-access-feature) allows you to create a local network between all the devices connected to the same NordLayer private gateway, which enables you to access windows shared drives without much hassle.
