Does NordLayer support the IKEv2 VPN protocol?

NordLayer supports the IKEv2 protocol depending on the context:

• NordLayer supports IKEv2 for site-to-site configurations. This ensures secure and efficient connections between different gateways and sites.
• However, starting June 1st, 2024, NordLayer apps no longer offer the IPSec/IKEv2 protocol. Manual setup for IKEv2/IPSec connections remains available if needed.

The decision to sunset IKEv2 focuses on providing the most secure and adaptable VPN options. While IKEv2/IPSec offers a strong foundation, it can be vulnerable to data leaks in certain scenarios on macOS and iOS. Newer protocols, such as NordLynx, offer greater flexibility for future improvements.
