# I always get "Failed" IP error in Windows software

Usually, this issue appears when an ISP provides an IPv6 address for you. If you also get IPv4 addresses, you can change your network adapter settings. All you need to do is [disable the iPv6 adapter on your device](/docs/how-to-disable-ipv6-on-any-device).
