# How to take a screenshot on Android?

Screenshots are a useful way to capture your screen for troubleshooting various issues. Once captured, you can easily view, edit, and share the image or video.

## Step-by-step guide to taking a screenshot

Follow these steps to capture your Android screen:

1. Open the app, webpage, or content you want to capture.
2. Depending on your phone:
  1. Simultaneously press and hold the **Power** button and **Volume Down** button. Hold both buttons for 1-2 seconds until you see a flash or hear a capture sound
  2. If the button combination doesn't work, press and hold the **Power** button for several seconds. When the power menu appears, tap **Screenshot**.
  3. Some devices offer alternative methods like palm swipe or three-finger tap. Check your device manufacturer's support documentation for additional options.

Once you've successfully captured your screen:

- A preview thumbnail will appear in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
- On some devices, you may see a **Screenshot captured** notification at the top.
- The screenshot is automatically saved to your device's gallery or photos app.
