Secure remote network access
Due to the current situation worldwide, more and more businesses are transitioning to work from home (WFH) or work from anywhere (WFA) policies, which give staff more workplace flexibility than they’ve ever had before.
If your office resources are only accessible locally, this creates issues for those working from home and can also impact their business operations as a result. Having said that, NordLayer does have a few options to choose from, depending on your current network and resource setup.
Network access control
If all you need is secure network access to your cloud resources or your work devices and resources that are already accessible remotely, you can take advantage of our dedicated server option with a private fixed IP address. This gives you full control of which organization members can access a dedicated server, while you can also lock-down cloud resources to ensure access is only available to those that really need it. You can find our guides on how to whitelist IP addresses via your dedicated NordLayer server in a separate section of our Help Center.
If you need to access an entire network remotely, the best solution is to use a site-to-site solution. This will allow you to access all of the devices that are connected to a network (including Network Attached Storage (NAS), network printers, etc.)
In order to set up a site-to-site connection with a remote office/site, you will need an advanced NordLayer subscription with a dedicated server, a fixed public IP address and an IPSec tunnel-compatible router/firewall.
If you only use cloud service(s), a NordLayer subscription with a dedicated server will suffice.
You can find all of our site-to-site guides in a separate section of our Help Center.
