The NordLayer Service Management Portal has an API key feature that gives partners a secure and easy way to manage API keys. Partners can use this self-service tool to securely generate, and revoke their keys from a simple interface.
Owners can use this feature to control their integrations with advanced tools like one-time key visibility and secure storage. It also allows for smooth key rotation without any downtime, so critical integrations are never interrupted.
What is an API key?
An API key is a unique authentication token that acts as a digital credential, allowing secure access to NordLayer's services and data. Think of it as a secure password specifically designed for applications and automated systems to communicate with NordLayer's API endpoints.
For partners, API keys serve several critical functions:
- Automated client management: API keys enable MSPs to create client organizations, retrieve account details and statuses, and track license usage.
- Secure access control: API keys provide a secure method for MSP applications to access NordLayer services without requiring human credentials, reducing the risk of password-related security breaches.
