NordLayer Browser provides an opportunity for network administrators to track their users' web activity and browser extension usage. This helps organizations identify shadow IT and take proactive measures to maintain their organization's security and compliance standards.

How to disable NordLayer Browser activity logging

  1. Log into the Control Panel and click NordLayer Browser in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Settings.

  1. In the opened window, click the toggle for Browser activity logging.

Administrators can also enable this tracking by turning on logging in the NordLayer Browser Settings.

NordLayer Browser activity logging tracks:

  • Visited domains — visualizes browser users' web activity across your organization. It allows you to explore numerous data points, including the top 100 most frequently accessed domains.
  • Extensions tracking — tracks browser extensions that users have installed in the NordLayer Browser. This view shows whether extensions are enabled, disabled, or terminated, so you can comprehensively evaluate potential gaps in your cyber defense.

Please note: This feature focuses on observability and manual response capabilities. IT administrators will need to take direct action based on the insights provided by the system.
